85 amp Battery

Need  to look at new battery old one has been on 4 years now. In the book it say the 3.2,s should have an 85amp one .Are they any bigger in size that the 70amp ones ,as with the one i have now there is no room in the tray for anything bigger.

On both 3.2 ex Metropolitan Police Omega's I've had (2001 and 2002) they've both had 85amp batteries, and they fit in the tray perfectly. Also the TC website lists the correct battery for a 3.2 as 85 amp, so that would indicate it would fit aswell, part number is 93197903

all  plod cars have largest batterys and alternators possible to handle the extra current to run everything.
  120amp/140amp alternators and 85-90amp batterys
  with batterys its the cold start cranking figure you should look at bigger is best 600+ for a V6 is good.

I'm pretty sure that all the V6s and 2.5TDs have 85 amp batteries.

TC quotes a 70AHr for my 3.0 ... used to be 72AHr

I'm sure someone bought the 85 Ah one listed on TC a while back and it was far too large. Mine has a 65 Ah battery.

Take a tape measure along with you, I guess. ;)

While some of the higher AH batteries fit on the tray, you can't actually get the jacket round them. Pretty sure that both the Elite and the Tractor have 70AH ones.

300mm x 175mm x 175mm fits prefaclift tray no problem on 2.5td although the cca and ah were massive and the motor factors were reluctant to sell, please don't ask why I just argued with him till he let it go for higher price than quoted but he then dropped price to £65. No jacket on mine mind just sat and clamped in place

You can actually buy a 100aH one from Manbatt in Bristol, but it is 15mm higher than standard, but it WILL fit the tray. Dear though.........

I think that S.P Jr is trying to kill me  ;D ;D had a good time. On the way out i think i saw your car but was not 100%. Sorry i missed you guys in there, he had me doing WWE moves on him in the ball pit for an 1 hour then when we got home 20 mins of skipping. ::) ::). Was think the bigger one as the DVD player in the back seem to have a big hit on the power but may not be helped with the state of the battery.
