Stick your location in your profile .. you might be lucky and someone with a code reader lives near you .. ??

2.2 can't usually be "frigged"  .. but it might be worth a try... you never know you might be lucky ...

You need to get the codes read. Where are you as there may be a member local with a code reader :y

Can you frig the 3.2 V6? My eml came on again last night - 3 months or so from last time. I think my local garage has closed down - they would reset for nothing.

Pedal test is 0420 again.

I think Kevin Wood is nearest me but that is 20 miles or so. I am in Sandhurst Berks. Otherwise off to main dealer at Aldershot I suppose.

What are you expecting? Turn off the EML (should be the emissions light for an 0420)?  If so, it will only come on again in 25 miles or so - just as you are arriving back home from Kevin's ::)

I have a few electrical issues but no time to get onto it - eml does not come back straight away as I said - it is some weeks ago  and seemed to coincide with fuel change - if it comes back straight away then yes I will have to make a decision.

I also have shorting probs with reversing sensors, headlamp range, and tail stop light warning.

My new car comes on 25th so limping through til then. Omega future then uncertain but will keep for station and back in short term.

Auto electrician  needed.

Unfortunately you need a code reader then ....

Options

1. Dealer ....  will cost you ... varies but £70 is not unknown

2. Trip to Forum Tech2,  Nottingham, Brackley or Winchester, much cheaper, better service, but add petrol cost

3. Hope someone lives near you, wait and see ??

4. Buy one. Cheap & cheerful ELM327 around £30 but needs a laptop and the software is not fantastic. More expensive standalone around £80 does engine and EML reset. Tech2, around £4000 !!!!!!

There is a load of stuff on code readers here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1236032406

EML has been on for a couple of weeks but went off on starting car tonight. I am sure I have read somewhere that eml resets after a number of engine starts. In this case it has to be of the order of 30 to 50 starts.

Pedal test still showing 0420.

Other posts have suggested that only reset is via code reader. Does this mean therefore that I possibly have electrical fault which is creating this rather than emissions sensor problem?

When you fix what ever is triggering 0420, then after 20/30 'clean starts' the ECU will forget about the code. Whenever the EML is on, there's a fault.  :y

Andy - I have fixed nothing in last 2 weeks other than changed stop light and disconnected Park Pilot from behind spare wheel.

The only other thing is the fuel trim scenario that has also been mentioned on here.
