Instrument illumination bulbs?

Does anybody know what wattage the right hand (as you look at the panel from the front)  illumination bulb for the main instrument panel is, its the biggish yellow holder, mine has no markings on it, im told it could be a 3w or 5w? any help would be great, thanks

Seem to remember it was 2.2w - may be wrong tho  :-/

501's only come in 3 wattages normally... 1.2w, 3w and 5w. 99% certain Vx replacements are 1.2w.

So it would be a safe bet to go for a 3w? (seems to be the average here from what everyone is saying)

yep it is 3w, did mine recently and put 5w in and they are too bright......!!

thats what I thought penfold, somebody also suggested they might get too hot? didnt want to take the risk of melting anything!
