Rabbit Hutch.
« on: 29 March 2010, 19:18:29 »

The journey home from this sundays mixed meet started off as a cruise but what high spirits combined with wanting to get home things got a little sticky & whilst still ok & not slipping the Beasties clutch is feeling a little light. No rush but want to see to it before dragging the pikey palace up to the Lakes in June, so two questions please.
Do we just sling a plate in or do the full kit while we're at it?
Also what's the difference in price & quality between VX & pattern parts?
She's just turned 117k & no release bearing noise, judder etc. Guy. :y

Best source I have found is buypartsby

They do sachs or lux kits (original fit) at good prices.

Pressure plate and friction disc is required and release bearing recommended, you DONT need the slave cylinder on the Omega

Oh!  :y I didn't inspect my Astra's that much, just mixed & matched release bearings & pipework that came with my 'new' g/box till I got something that worked.  ;)

Here is what you need Guy:

http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/clutch-parts-final.php?year=1999&Submit=Next&make=Vauxhall&model=Omega&sub=&eng=3.0000

You just need the repset (the repset pro includes the slave cylinder).

Lux are who supply Vx so its the same item  :y

I have an unused Sachs pressure plate and clutch plate you can have for £55 + p&p...  The only thing is, it is only the 228mm clutch plate  (older plate)...  There is some surface rust on the plate, but only from storage in the garage...
