Sh"t, my very expensive wheels are getting Bollo"ked, the road salt is stuffing them up, i am having to clean them everyday.

As they are polished alloy, the last owner decided to clean them with what looks like an abrasive material and has took off some of the clear lacquer. where it is missing the alloy is pitting. Gonna have to take them off to do a top clean then try and recoat them myself.

Any tips.

Stick some old sh1tty ones on there and put yours in the garage

give them to a good trustable painter for covering them with 2 coats of colorless lack (the lack must be of hard-tough style)

otherwise will be useless..

This is what i was going to do, i will spend next weekend getting them up to top notch then take them to the chap at Melton Mowbray for a spray of clear.

I still have my origional CDX wheels but they need tyres.

No mate the car is the wrong guage, width that is for all you none train spotters . No i aint a train spotter.

I had the same issue with my W plate Omega - polished alloys that went white with the salt  

I had them stripped, sanded and repainted with star silver paint to match the car - and they actually looked better than before.

But they were only Vx standard ones on my GLS - so not quite so shiney as yours.

My top tip - put it in the garage and use the bus until March

  , would not know how to use a bus , I was thinking along those lines of having them painted / coated, shame to lose the shine, i will have a go at polishing them myself then take to Melton to get them clear coated.
