EML on, auto gearbox fault p0705
« on: 15 April 2010, 20:39:24 »

Hey, got my 3.0 mv6 auto put on the computer today because the eml is on and auto gearbox fault come's up on the dash,  It will only drive in first gear. All the engine fault code were cleared and none of them reappeared so the guy checked the gearbox for faults and this what came up: p0705 transmission range sensor circuit malfunction, Can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks

Hi,
I know this is an old post, but I hve recently had a P0705 code on my Omega and looking around for an answer all routes eemed to point towards a gearbox range selector switch, which is mounted to the gearbox under the car where the selector mechanism fits, even my local gearbox repair company said its definitely that part, so swapped it out and nothing. Upon further investigation I started looking at an electrical fault and bingo, the fault was caused by a blown fuse, position 9 in the fusebox under the steering column near the ODB connector.
