I think I know what prompted this timely warning...   :'(  Thanks for the spot Jaime, and I'll be down the the dealers first thing Monday morning!   :y

I might still play it safe and take the wife's Fiesta to Leeds on Boxing Day.   :(
Baz.
Not a nice journey in the Fester.  You have breakdown cover, I think I may risk it if it were me if it covered a 'relay' type service....

This thread seems to have degenerated somewhat - so it took me a while to find the sensible response... ;)
(V6s are miles better anyway - it was my main reason for buying the Omega in the first place - a bit of fun with the right foot - and I'm the wrong side of 50, so firmly on the side of the Grandads)  ;D

If I can get the sensor to carry in the car with me, then I might just risk it - at worst I'll be spending Boxing Day contorting myself around the engine compartment - probably with Dad's help - and he's over 80!

Its a good sound piece of advice but for me any journeys have to be done in the Omega.

For a start its my only car and secondly if I wanted to worry about the car breaking down everytime I drove it I would have bought something crap and unreliable like a Merc ;D

For God's sake Baz! don't drive a rather fiesta all the way to Leeds!

Even if the CS goes, once it starts it wont normally stop, so make sure everyone has a wee before you start the drive.

Ps.  Thanks of the card - Merry Christmas to you all!

I think Its Really Good Advice TB There Seems to be alot of Crank Sensors Failling at the mo wonder if its to do with the weather ?

Yep Mine Started With the Cam Sensor Unpluged, but I Not With The Crank Sensor Unpluged but it could be knacked and it stil starts Fine
