Sudden lack of rev counter and speedo.
« on: 24 April 2010, 19:35:01 »

just been to asda and the car was fine. just nipped out in her again and now the rev counter is flickering like mad on 0rpm. Also the spedo isn't registering any speed. Ive looked through a few old post on here but couldn't really find anything useful to fix the problem. From what i gather if i had tc and abs lights on the dash then it could be the abs ecu, but i don't. everything else is perfect. Does any body have any suggestions? new/2nd hand dash? just to add the petrol gauge and temp gauge are working as they should and the car is a 1998 3.0l mv6 manual. TIA :-?

Put pressure on the left hand side of the clocks by the MID and see if that works.

Ive give the instument panel a press back in thinking it may have not been located properly. Unfortunately it made no difference. Also checked the alternator and all seem to be correct. Earlier today i replaced a faulty crank sensor, and thought i may have disturbed something wiring wise, once again all is well. Any other suggestions are welcome. Cheers Paul :y
