Pick up pipe needs to be swapped over as they are different, also the dipstick tube needs to swapped as they are differend lengths.. the rear coolant transfer pipe as well. While the engine is out change the oil cooler and re seal the cooler plate, and any gaskets ie the exhaust manifolds. :y

Not so sure, TBH. :-/

It gives much more scope for finding an engine and, if I were changing the engine in mine, I'd strip the donor engine down to a long block before fitting all the known good ancillaries, even more so if it was from a scrapped car and had (potentially) been sitting around.

Can I ask why you would want to fit a Vectra engine into an Omega?
Is it because you already have a V6 Vectra?
If not then personally I would like already said get a known good engine for an Omega less hassle in my opinion.....
Coming from someone who has an Omega engine that will be fitting it into a V6 Vectra  ;D ;D ;D

A lot of the Vectra B owners drop the 3.0 in in place of the 2.5.... simpler than messing with cams etc. The whole lot drops out on the subframe from below as well  :)

Trouble is the vast majority of modern vehicles are FWD and the FWD's of today are in a different league to the FWD's of ten or so years ago.

I will agree that correcting oversteer on a RWD is far more natural than correcting understeer on a FWD and the way a RWD drives is something all us Omega drivers appreciate but what happens when the supply of decent Omega's runs out? What then????

Well if anyone here has a good 2.5 miggy engine going then please let me know! :)
I only asked about the vectra engine as they appear to be more plentiful and thus cheaper, but if its a load of extra work then i probably won't go for it.

No idea but an off roader is tempting with the roads and flooding around here.
