Insignia washer jets
« on: 28 April 2010, 23:14:51 »

Anyone know whether Insignia washer jets (Pt No's 12782509 & 12782508) fit a facelift Mig ?

I think Marks DTM fitted one to his a short while ago to test, or was it new Zafira jets?
The spray type.

if those are the numbers Mark posted then yes they do fit.

Cut the heaters out and fit in the new ones, holes not as deep as the Omega ones but they just push in.

Yeah, stops jets freezing in winter, little blue resister slots in the base ot the omega washer jets. Presume all models have them?

i think, from memory, easiest way to tell is lift pollen filter section of scuttle and see if there are wires to the washer jet on the pass side.

yeah, all facelifts have heated washer jets, apart from GLS spec. Insignia Elite does not have them!  :o

Slot straight in, DTM is currently testing them, one side is Insignia jet, other is standard Omega. They work well, give a much wider blast of water, yet at the same time using less.

They have to be angled up a lot, but easily done with small flat head screwdriver  :y

currently fitted on mine both sides. Only problem i had was the clips on the scuttle that hold the jets in broke off when removing the old omega ones. But the insignia jets are a tight enough push fit so they stay in.

They do need angling up alot as said, but they work well.

If my MV6 has them, they either don't work or are crap!
If they're crap, then that's why Insignia doesn't have them - no need.
Bit like Omega B not having those gay headlight wipers, I guess.

They work fine if you have correct mix of screen wash  :)

They also only turn on with rear window heater, been very useful last winter  :y

The heater elements are on when ever the ignition is on.

And they do work quite well but, if your wash freezes in the bottle or pipe....then your screen wash concentrate is wrong and they wont work  :y

I thought it was tied to the rear window heater / heated mirrors. Bit of a waste them being on in the summer  :-/
