should add they are very easy to fit, bolt at the bottom, nut at the top.

Dont cut the strap on the shock until the bottom mount is fitted and you may well not need to jack the car.

self levelling rear shocks are £150 a pair on trade club.

But you need either a vauxhall trade club card if your in the trade, or an autobahn stormers trade club card for £20 when you join the abs club, several members have the abs card and gives full access to the vx trade club scheme.

So you can aquire genuine self levelling gm shocks for 170 sobs including the card price, and have access to trade club to boot which gives significent saving on all service items. Thats the way to go.

You wont find self levelling shocks from any other maker for the Omega. Marzochi used to do some but they dont work with the automatic hight sensing system as you have to pump them up manually and have reportedly been discontinued anyway.

Or you could just fit standard shocks and pull the self leveling fuse no 27, or pull the plug off the level pump in the front drivers side wing.

if he fits standard shocks he will need standard springs as well won't he ?

I've got a set in my garage that I paid £100 for a few months ago they had only been on the original car for six months. Went to have them fitted for the MOT this week and they said the shocks on the car are OK. they are the Elite self leveling type

Thanks for tips guys.

My mechanic can get them in for as cheaply as I could find them so he's sorting it all out.

Normally I get him to do everything but have recently moved but am up his way next week so makes sense.

New rear tyres being fitted as well so after an expensive week (had rocker gaskets, thermostat, HNV, sparks all done this week!) it should be back and running all OK! It might even get a clay and wax this weekend :D :D
