hi guys, just noticed my horn isnt working, i will check the fuse for it and then check the connector is pushed tight onto the horn, which is under the bumper on the right hand side as you face the bonnet correct? if that doesent work is there anything else i can do? thanks

Correct 
You've seemed to have covered most options. There are 2 horns there, 400Hz & 500Hz, I had a problem with one of mine ages ago where the wiring had been chafed though by the plastic conduit it's run in.  :-/

i always wondered what the two tone horn meant, i never use the horn which is why i didnt realise it wasent working, however the car passed its mot in march so i suppose it worked then, so on the steering wheel, the left button is one horn and the right is another? are they different pitches as u said the frequency is different, ie one is a lower sound and the other is a higher sound, i have washed the engine bay twice in the last few weeks maybe thats got something to do with it

You can't select which tone you use. A push on either horn push is the same, you're just supplying voltage to the pair of horns as though it was a single unit. 

Remove & test each horn across your battery to check they actually work before you start on wiring faults.

also check the wires to the spade conectors I had to cut and inch off the wire as the copper had oxidised also at the same time moved horn to behind the grill above bumper

On a previous car I had a problem with the contacts in the steering column, a slight turn of the wheel fixed the connection.

You jinxed me, my horn has just stopped working!

For the record what was your problem?

I have checked fuse and visual of horn wiring, but I am unable to get under the car due to creaking joints... 

It may be my imagination but there seems to be a relay click when the horn button/s are pressed.
