Have a nosey in the maintainece guides section.  Might come under something slightly different if you dont find one straight away.

Maybe, under changing the lights/illumibation header.

If it's the same as a facelift ashtray there is a screw behind the ashtray (you can just see it when the ashtray is fully open).

Take out the small tray inside the ashtray. You will see a pozi driver screw the a hole undo the screw and the ashtray will come out. from memory there is two screw behind the ashtray which you will see when you remove it.
You will need to remove the radio head unit plus cage.
There is a handle on the frame work that you need to pull down or prise down with a screw driver to release the clips holding the surround.
I would have thought there would be a How Too in the maintence section if you have a look :y

While the facia is off put a cable tie at each end of the handle and leave the tails hanging downwards. It'll make it easier next time as you have 2 pull straps for the handle instead of trying to get your hand in there again ;)

Probably a good idea to fit all new bulbs while the assembly is out.

CDX has climate controls whereas CD has rotary A/C controls. IIRC the "walnut" fascia is not a straightforward swapout except for the gearlever surround

100% correct. The fittings are different. It can be done (I did one), but its hours of work and you have to fabricate the manual controls into the cutout for the CC panel. You need to have spares that you can sacrifice and time to do this one properly - mind you, it looks nice when its done.
