at £600 what kind of car did you think you would get ,,,
you want quality you have to pay a bit more

I was fully aware it was a very cheap car dont get me wrong, but when it's advertised as spot on with just the cosmetics on the front needing work, thats what i wanted, i was prepared to pay another £200 to get the bodywork sorted/resprayed but that should have left me with a nice x reg 2.5 elite for £800, which is a good price but not a shocking bargain, so to have bought it and then had to strip the engine down and fix it without knowing exactly the cause of the rough running (not one of my strong points), wouldn't have been such an financially economical move

not to mention, swmbo told me not to buy it and was furious when she found out i almost had!!

Glad u didn't buy mine cos the misfiring/stuttering has got worse  !
Changed the plugs & ht leads but looks as though it might be the exhaust manifold gaskets  !!
Thanks for your offer anyway & hope you managed to sell the Bora?

no worries! we still have her bora at the moment, so gonna wait til september or so when i have an extra year on the no claims, then shell out a little more and find one needing no work, and in turn, sell my bora aswell!

she's never happy, she bought a little runaround but now she wants a Lexus IS200!!

Just catching up.  Could also simply be a case of the throttle and lickdown cables needing the slck adjusting up.  Wouldnt make any differnce to it idling though, just on the performance/kicjdown etc.
