Dead as a Dodo
« on: 11 May 2010, 18:37:39 »

Hi

Just went out to the car and tried to start it and nothing. No lights or anything. Tried using jump leads but nothing.

Any ideas where to start looking!

Cheers

If it was a immobiser problem the lights would come on and the eml would flash while turning the key,i was thinking more along the lines of ingition switch/inginition barrel.

THe ingition barrel as a habit of snapping,I would take the switch off to see if there a little bit the ingition barrel stuck in there,if not try to see if ,the  switch  is working. assuming youve checked all fuses.hth :y

When you turn the key to the start position do you feel the key being returned to position 2 ie do you feel the key spring back.

As stated above, does the key make the positive clicks arount position 1 and 2 and spring back from 3?

Souns to me like that end of the barrel has snapped off and you're not actually turning the switch ;)

To add... If you turn the headlights on do they work as normal or not?
