Anything is possible, but I wouldn't even begin to do it. Your insurance co would probably shy away from a 'modified' car too

It's not something I'd want to attempt, the engines are totally different, everything would have to be changed, fuel tank, fuel delivery, exhasut, ecu, ignition system, clocks.
It would de value the 3.2 Elite aswell.
Is it fuel consumption that prompted the idea? If so LPG the 3.2...or buy a TD or 2.2 DTI Elite.
I'm sure after very extensive work it could be done, but it'd be a big job.

ulitmately you'd have a modified car that you'd want to sell. I agree with Josh above, who'd want to buy a 3.2 Elite with an oil burner in it?  ;)

You will unfortunately have a problem, if it's a stock vehicle then you don't need to disclose it for up to 14 days...after that period you are then required to add it to the MID. I'm with Tradex, they ask for registration, what the vehicle is, value and are there are any modifications to it. Only takes 60 seconds to go through the info, but with a traders policy you still need to notify them of significant modifications.

i have done this kind of thing, the smallest things can cause the biggest time consuming problems.

I see your point, but insurance will be an issue, the task of actually doing it, and the devaluing of the 3.2 Elite in the first place are all such major draw backs.
How many miles has the Elite done, colour etc? As I'd say it'd be better to sell it on, and buy a 2.2 DTI and add the luxuries of an Elite to it, be far easier in the long run.

It would be a fraction of the work involved to LPG it rather than try to swap the engines (and everything associated with the engine swap) Plenty of info and advice available on here as well. :y

 ;D thanks Andy...us young'uns have our moments  :D

As for cost of LPG, I believe 2k is top whack for it to be done. If someone on here did it, it'd be considerably cheaper.
