Many things pee us all off goodstyle but some of us have to go that bit further & RANT! While some reflect quietly on lifes irritations others climb on their soapboxes, go red in the face & let rip anywhere, often on here.
     What i'd like to know is, who is OOF's worst ranter? If we can get 10/20 even more maybe names we could start a poll. You can nominate yourselves and/or others. Thre'res 2000+ of us so 20 ish should'nt be difficult, even a Top 10 pop pickers!
   I'll start the ball rolling with me 'sen 'cos if something riles me my gob goes into o/drive & no brakes!!!!!!! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Funny thing is, I used to be quite meek - especially when faced with a seemingly higher authority. However, as I've got older and wiser, I realise that the government (especially the government) and other organisations rely on that sort of attitude to keep themselves in power and money.

There is definitely a ranting undercurrent going on in the UK now - you only need to read message boards. Sooner of later, that ranting will translate into open defiance.....er, maybe.

Right then, rather than ranting about how bad things are, why not put a positive spin on how good things are in the UK compared to other parts of the world.

We are lucky to live in a country where:

• There is virtually no poverty.

• The police force is not corrupt and can be trusted to treat the innocent fairly and the guilty with respect.

• Every person has access to good health care which isn't based on your ability to pay.

• All children are entitled to free education from the age of 5 to 18, again not based on the ability to pay.

• Our roads are still better than those in many parts of the world.

• It is English which is the international language of business and commerce. Not any other language.

• We aren't plagued by snakes, poisonous spiders or other lethal creatures

• We will have the opportunity, in a couple of years time to get rid of this government and vote in a new one.

• We are entitled to say what we like about the current government without the fear that we will be imprisoned, tortured or killed for our opinions.

Our country isn't perfect but then again nowhere is. However, it is our country and we should be proud of what we've got. If we're not then don't expect anyone else to be.

Finally, if this country was so bad, why would there be so many immigrants rushing to our borders every day of the year.

Totally 100% agree, I rant a bit about what goes on in the uk, but I have the union jack flowing through my veins.

As i say to people who moan about the TV...They know where the off button is.

As i say to people who hate this country.........break off somewhere else then, see how you like it, there are 1000s of others who came back after thinking the grass was greener on the other side.

I'd never consider living elsewhere despite living & working all over here. All points taken on board re health education, free speech etc. So now we've laid that to rest this thread was intended in a humorous vein, i.e Victor Meldrew, Alf Garnet, Harry Enfields Old Gits & any other moany old goat you care to mention.
