Knocking but no one there!
« on: 25 May 2010, 16:24:31 »

I have a knocking noise from the rear nearside (I think) of my estate.
It only happens when going over very small unlevel parts of the road, like a drain cover or crack in tarmac where surface has been repaired for a trench sort of thing. It's the same whether no load, or very fully loaded.

It's not hard, just like someone tapping a couple of times under the floor with a hide mallet, only as you go over small road imperfections. On a big pot hole nothing or speed ramps, nothing. Seems more noticable when going slower.

Ive had a look underneath but can't see any dodgy suspension bushes or exhaust touching anything. Nothing shows up trying to bounce rear end up and down.

It's been there for a while, but seems to be getting worse.

Any one had this? or any ideas?

Roger
