Door doesn't respond to central locking?
« on: 25 May 2010, 16:29:36 »

Can anyone help?

My Girlfriend recently grabbed the front passenger door handle & tried opening whilst I was about to hit the button to unlock the car.  Now the door does not open or close other than by manually lifting  or pressing down the manual thing inside the car.  Is there a way of resetting it, so all the doors lock and unlock properly?

Thanks.

in my experience, if the door pin moves intermitently the locking mechanism is stiff and needs lubricating, if the door pin never moves or shows no sign of movement then it needs another motor as its probably burned out, fubared.

Strange that its stopped working so suddenly tbh, has it been troublsome in the past?

No.  It was fine before.  She just went up to the door and I was fishing out the key from my pocket, but she pulled the handle whilst I was about to press the button and her door didn't open.  It's never opened since!

Try gently lifting/pushing the button inside whist operating the fob, it may just be out of sync.
