Front brake pad sensor - replace?
« on: 09 June 2010, 10:57:48 »

Hi all,

The brake pad sensor warning light on my 99 3.0 V6 has come on so I'll be replacing the pads shortly. Will the sensor be knackered or should I be able to re-use it? If I need a new one I'd like to get it at the same time as the pads.

Also - any recommendations for pads (front and rear). Vx or are there others which are good?

Many thanks,

Mark S.

If the warning is there the sensor has worn through and must be replaced. Early cars had 2 sensors, one each side, later cars only have the one.

Easy enough to replace, but take care .. the ends are a tad fragile and it is not difficult to break them .. :)

Genuine VX pads every time for me ... :)
