Newbie rattle question

Hi All,

This is my first post! :)

I have a W reg omega estate and have noticed a metal type rattle going over bumps at the front, is there anything i should or can check myself or common problems on these?

If it`s only happening going over bumps, as Henry says, probably droplinks. Easy to do, small bar, balljoint either end secured by one nut. Black bar left of centre in this pic

About £20 a pair. You could remove them, test car over short distance, then refit/replace as necessary.

really? Its so loud, almost embaressing going past people lol. Are they easy to replace on these?

Are you sure it`s at the front. Check all exhaust heatshields underneath as well.

Yes its definately the front rob, sounds more heavier than a heatshield if that makes sense?

Go the droplinks route first. Known problem withh Omega`s and cheap easy fix

Ok so if i remove 1 and take it on a short journey, will this be ok? i will know if it is the droplink because going down my road it is really loud due to the road surface. Will it b safe to drive without one?

Whip `em both off. OK to drive a short distance, just no wheel spins :D :D

Took the car to garage today to get noise checked out and its actually the caliper rattling, the part that houses the brake pads!! had a look earlier and i cant see why its making it?? anyway its going back monday to be fixed.
