Thermostat

Two questions:
What temperature should the V6 2.5 run at?
Where is the bloody thing? :-/

Mine sat between 80-90 Splott, which was normal to me.

The thermostate sits in the middle of the top of the V and is accessable once you remove the inlet manifold ;) ;)

Thanks Lizzie :y

If it was showing minus 4 on the gauge I wouldn't take the inlet manifold off. The guy who come up with the idea of putting it there is probably still laughing, now!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to the days when all you had to do was remove two bolts, lift the housing up and the thermostat fell out into your hand.
I must be getting old! :'(

Luck has it my car is running about 82c :y

Getting the metal coolant transfer pipe off is the difficult bit!

I just buy a new one now and then I don't have to worry about the mess I make of the old one!

If you Elite an MV6, does that make it an MVee-leet?

sjc.......... there is not a chance in h*ll of me getting involved in replacing the thermostat. I would put cooking foil over the radiator like we did in the old days, first :y

;D I don't blame you.  Only trouble is, these V6s really do not respond well to being "boiled-over".

Rock and a hard place comes to mind but sounds like you don't have a thermostat problem anyway  ;)
