LPG tank
« on: 14 June 2010, 23:10:08 »

hi, i received my 4 hole toroidal tank today. it has securing lugs welded to the top aswell as the bottom.
if i drop the petrol tank, would securing through drilled holes in the wheel well only, using spreader plates suffice? or do you have to secure the top also?
cheers

Should be fine to secure one or the other. They have both to allow them to be underslung or wheel well mounted. :y

thanks for that kevin mate. i thought it should be ok like that, but looking at other cars pictures, they seem to make up brackets and drill to the top of the well  and bridge them across, thats why i asked.
in between the tank and the wheel well, you're supposed to put some kind of anti chaffing material inbetween, correct? if so would one of those foam camping mats be ok to cut up or does it have to be a certain material?
cheers

I can't see that material mattering much. Bit of old carpet tile would probably do. :y
