how do i change the rear speakers on a facelift?? mine don't work verry well. if i put the volume on low they don't hear after 5-10 minutes but if i turn the volume up they suddenly come back so i want to change them but i don't know how to remove the cover.

Need to remove the door card I believe.
- see guides for types (usually show front doors but similar).

My Elite was doing this, turned out the connector for the Bose amp was hanging off and making intermittent contact.

If you dont have an Elite then maybe its just a loose connection somewhere. Ok, so you still need to remove the door cards, but its possible you just need to push some plugs back in.

If I were you I'd start by removing the head unit and checking all the connections , but IIRC that needs some special tools.

I havent really helped much have I  :-/

Remove the ashtray and undo the screw behind it and then slide the ashtray/door release trim out.

In the bottom of the grab handle there is a small rubber bung, behind that is a screw, undo that.
 
On the outside edge of the doorcard there are 6 screws  that need to be removed.

When you have removed all the screws pull the doorcard towards you and lift up gently, you now have to disconnect the electric connectors, one on the puddle light and one on the electric window switch.
The doorcard should now be free to remove completely.

You can now see the speaker which is held in with 3 screws, undo these and pull the speaker towards you and disconnect the plug.



The problem you have is more likely to be a loose connection in the wiring loom for the door where it comes out of the "B" pillar or a broken wire inside the rubber boot that takes the wiring loom from the "B" pillar to the door itself. have a play with the rubber boot and connectors first.

i don't know if its and elite or not , and i don't have bose sound system. i'm afraid of doing it on my own without know exactly what to do because i have a bad history in breaking stuff (

I don't have Bose on mine just the basic CD/Radio and had the same problem, intermitant speaker on the O/S rear door and it turned out to be a wiring fault inside the rubber boot. I reconnected the wire and all was good again.

the rubber boot is that that comes from the pillar to the door??

Yes 

Pull the boot out of the bottom of the "B" pillar and there is a large plug/socket, pull the wiring and plug/socket assembly out and check.

Seperate the plug from the socket and check for dirty connectors.

Pull the boot back along the wiring loom and check for broken or damaged wires in the loom.


If you can't find any obvious damage or fault remove the door card as described and do a contiuity check on the speaker wires in the door loom.


The fault is usually a broken wire in the rubber boot, not always visible to the naked eye as it's the copper strands that break inside the insulation.

i'll check now the rubber mounting.. but i don't know how to remove the door card thats what i was asking here
