steering wheel play

Is it possible to have play in the steering wheel from the steering column??? the idler arm is new and i reduced all play from the steering casette screwing the nut untill the steering wheel started to spin hard, but there is still a slight play in it. what can i do??

Yes I had to replace the collum down to the conection at the foot well.
its somthing to do with the saftey system where in a accident the steering wheel collapses into the dash.
there is a shear bolt which is a sh*t to get off :y

if you have adjustable steering you need to get an adjustable one :y

both omegas i've owned have had play at the steering wheel, rocking at 3 and 9 o'clock position. Not present on on other members cars i've driven. Some slight play at 12 and 6 o'clock with the tilt angle mechanism i guess, but not at 3 and 9 as mine have had. Odd. :-/

verry strange.. you should all try to tighten the steering box a bit but not too much because if will steer harder after. that reduced a lot of play in my car but there still is, and i don't really think its normal because at 120km/h its really hard to keep the car on the road.
