help please 2.5 TD won't start

Hi guys n gals im thinking of buying another 2.5 td but it don't run it was on the bay about a week ago and didn't sell the problem im being told is that the car was parked up one night running fine and the day after would not start he thinks its a pump problem he has tried the pump in the tank it works fine there is diesel in the filter and thats as far as he got he seems to think it could be the pump or pump wiring has anyone else had this problem

now for the bad news it did sell but I think its more than just the pump spoted it othere week and got reminder it had been sold then next day it was back on, so would go look at it before you buy it, I thought it looked good.

he seems very genuine guy the highest bidder didn't make the deposit on the car as requested i was the second high bidder he has told me i can have it for £350 im goin down to look sometime tomorrow its had many new front suspension parts lots of bills/history this is all im being told

i do have one now it runs and drives but needs 4 tyres full exhaust inc cat front suspension and rear brakes so im thinking make good one out of two and break the other

Before you go down the route of the FIP, try disconnecting the Crank Sensor....  If that is not sending a good signal, you won't get fuel at the injectors either...  2 minutes to disconnect and test, will enable you to move the car (engine idles at about 1500 rpm) should it be necessary new rank sensor is also much cheaper than secondhand FIP....

Crank sensor just below starter motor and lead just unclips from the end...  Also loose starter motor could be enough to corrupt the signal...

quick update went to view the car the engine is in bits for some reason so i left it where it is and bought a 2.2 dti on a y plate with 90k on the clock seemed better option to me
thanks for the help anyway guys/gals  :y
