The Resi games vary a lot in quality.

Without doubt Resident Evil 4 is the best of the bunch and will keep him occupied for a long time. Very highly recommended.

The re-issued version of the original Resident Evil for the GC is also very good.

Resident Evil 2 & 3 are not so great.

Resident Evil Zero is very good and quite clever in the way you have to use both chatacters to solve some problems.

Resident Evil Code Veronica is also very good.

Oh and when he has finished with them, tell him to get a copy of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. A superb game for the GC.

The Gamecube never really tok off for Nintendo, which is a shame because it is a very good piece of kit with some cracking games.

Nostalgia again!!!
  Sonic on the Master System.
Dragons Fury (pinball goth thing) Megadrive.
Road Rash 1&2 (bike racing/fight 'em up) Megadrive
Super Mario Cart (SNES) Evil fun in 2 player.
Driver (PS1)  no missions just "take aride with the no damage cheat on, realistic drifting.
Everybody's Golf (PS1) Hours of fun.
Bomberman (PS1) How to lose friends/family!
Colin McREA Rally (RIP) What a buzz (PS1)
  Ridge Racer (PS1) Ridiculous drifting)
Moto GP2 (PS2) Donnington park over & over stuff the tournaments, we just took turns for lap times.
"This time i'm not gonna press the wheelie button coming out of a bend" Oops, can't help myself!!! :D
Hav'nt got any consoles now, but i might get an old one again. New ones to in depth & involved for me. :y

Last Christmas Emma's stepfather wheeled out an old Taito space invaders table top game. Hours of fun! Modern games just aren't as playable IMHO, but I have a 10 minute attention span so am unlikely to bother with complex games.

When I was bored with playing it I took it apart and laughed at the number of ICs in it. :o
