Problem with  CCRT 700 Telephone
« on: 23 April 2007, 22:33:46 »

Hi all, This is my first post & I hope someone can help? I have recently purchased a Vauxhall Omega Elite My secound one so far. It is equipped with a CCRT 700 audio system. This system has a Telephone facility. When I insert my SIM card, I can access my phone book & other facilities but for some reason I always get the NO NETWORK message on my display & I am unable to make calls. Could you please tell me the possible reasons for this? I have driven to numerous areas but still the problem persists. The only icon lit in the bottom right of the display is the signal strength icon. Do I have to have a certain type of aerial fitted? do I have to subscribe to some sort of service? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you kindly, Darren5354.

Are you using a Voda or O2 SIM? Orange and T-Mobile won't work as they are not GSM 900...

The signal strength on the display, is it showing a signal? If not, does the car have an aerial on the roof?

Presumably you have the shortish stubby arieal still attached at the back of the roof....if a saloon....or longer dual arieal if an estate?

If yours is a saloon, the radio aerial is integral to the heated rear window, and the stubby is the cellular antenna.

If you have an estate, I believe the radio and phone are combined...

On a saloon the phone uses a small arieal on the rear of the roof....the radio uses an arieal combined into the rear window heater.....estates use a combined slightly larger arieal

A short (4") rubber one? Thats cellular :)

Alas, I don't have a ccrt, so probably don't know much more. It should just work...
