Swapping 427 ECU
« on: 13 September 2010, 14:23:15 »

Quick question......

Can a 427 ECU module for a facelift 2.5TD be swapped from another vehicle and run ok, or does it need to be connected to diagnostic computer after fitting to re-program?

Cheers, BP

427 is for a manual so if it's a manual yes will just need immoberliser doing, try and get one with a transponder chip with it and then nothing will need doing at all!

And if you can get the PIN from the doner, it would make reprogramming new transponders a whole heap easier possible in the future

UPDATE !!

I was only asking about the unit swop incase I cocked up the soldering of the chip I bought (through this forum)
BUT I fitted the chip this evening and it works OK..

What a difference it makes  :) should have fitted one sooner.

Well chuffed  :D :D

Thanks to TheBoy and Terry (v.good service !!)
