wheel Key FP1734 needed
« on: 14 September 2010, 09:28:51 »

Hi,

My locking nut key has gone missing  >:( and seeing as the wheels are about as desirable( 16" Elite) as a dose of the clap I dont see the point of replacing the locking bolts.

The Vauxhall code in the box is FP1734 and rather than fork out £35 for a new key I wondered if anyone could check to see if theirs is the same or someone has a collection of these, lol, so I can get the buggers off and put normal bolts on.

Some beer tokens available for anyone who can help!!

Will look later.  Otherwise, donkey's years ago I got the aftermarket wheelnuts off my XR3i by taking them to the local Main Dealer.  When they said they couldn't do it, I rang Ford HQ who contacted the garage and told them to buy a master set and unlock my wheels - which they then did for nowt.

Or pop to your local tyre place - I've had a set of locking nuts taken off like that once before (they were the 'tamper proof spinning collar' kind, too) - took them all of two minutes..

if there the old 3 pin vx ones

bang off the outer ring with a chisel oe old screwdrive

then get a old 17mm socket you dont want to use a sanpon  etc

a half desent hafords one etc and wack it on with a lump hamer try not to mis and hit alloys

then just stick on breaker bar undue and replace with a normall lug nut

failing that screwfix do a cheap locking nut removal kit
for 20 quid http://www.screwfix.com/prods/94826/Van-Car-Accessories/Mechanics-Tools/Emergency-Locking-Wheel-Nut-Remover-4-Pc
