Also, under the scuttle drivers side is a metal bracket that is held in place by two torx bolts under the windscreen rubber, It helped to bend that down a little on mine, it was holding the scuttle up a little which in turn made the jet point down, might help.?

The screenwash sprays out in a fan shape instead of the two jets per side  :y

That might be significant, the passenger side is just high enough now but the drivers side isn't.

Fitted the Insignia jet to passenger side yesterday and yes, it is LOW. And, having NOT read all the topics I butchered the old one when removing the heater element and now have no return  :'( But I think it could be possible to cut some of the material on the scuttle to have the jet sitting higher, has anyone done this?

I did this mod.  Butchered my old jets, fitted the Insignia ones, found them to be utterly useless, binned them and sourced another set of standard washer jets!! Waste of time and effort IMO.  ::)

Agreed.  :y But why I have had this impression from here that it would be a benefit to fit 'em?

Something is being done wrong then as they were fitted to our facelift for some two years, worked perfectly and, most importantly, worked better than the originals.

What I would say is, forget and pre-conceptions regarding where the current jets hit the screen and set them lower but so they cover the full width.

You do have a point; they possibly even shouldn't be reaching the same height. I will try adjusting them better and see the results, will post if any progress is gained.

Have them on this and my previous omega, and find them to be an improvement. Provided they can be made to sit correctly in the scuttle, and the scuttle is fitted at the right angle to allow them to work.

Care is needed to adjust the jet ball in the washer housing though, as the plastic can distort and destroy the fan shape of the water jet itself.

I had to make a tool for adjusting, made sort of a socket with four lugs to fit the outer slots in nozzle. I only need to build up the patience to adjust them correctly. But my first impression after install was "what a waste"  :y

Have had them on mine for over a year and two Mots, no issues at all. They do spray a bit low, but because it's not a jet of water, the spray is more of a mist, and therefore more effective :y.

The plastic trim piece under the back edge of the bonnet might benefit from modifying as it does rub against the tops of the jets, pressing down on them slightly. Remove this trim, then pull up on the jets to make sure that they are fully home, shut the bonnet and test the washers. If that solves the issue then you can either leave the trim off, or cut/drill the area above the jets and refit. :y

I still have mine fitted and they have passed one MOT.

The jet hits the screen about 1/3 up but the mist/spray that results seems to wet the whole screen

The fan jets on SWMBO's VW Golf give a noticeably more powerful jet, I haven't checked the pump filter yet, next weekend perhaps ::)

Does anyone find these to use less screen wash? I'm topping mine up every 5 mins it seems.  :-\
