Hello,

I am building up finances for a clutch change and 'think' I can do it myself (for the first time ever). The clutch bit, I think I can handle (maybe), but wondered if you can remove the gearbox WITHOUT removing the twin cats? I know mine are likely to be very rusty and a real big issue to remove.

If you are very careful you can remove the gearbox by just removing the downpipes at the manifold end and leaving them attached to the centre section. The gearbox just squeezes through.

You can do it this way but it makes access to the bell housing bolts so much more difficult and there is less space to 'lose' the propshaft.
The whole weight of the front pipes and cats would be supported by the front wall of the middle silencer cans, not good if they are begining to rust.
