Cambelt change

Recently bought a 2.2 petrol, I believe the cambelt was changed about 10K ago but I have no evidence of this (Fully stamped service book but no tick in the relevant box).
Had a quote for £250 including parts to do cambelt kit, water pump and rocker gasket (small leak at the back)
Is this a reasonable price for this job?
Or is there a member close to me who fancies tackling it?

Plenty on here who travel and do a quality job mate, Elite Pete, or Dath Loo-Knee or whatever his name is now  :y

Always a problem getting people to travel up here LoL, though I will be in the midlands in a couple of weeks I would rather get it done before then ;)
Always a chance the previous owner may come up with some evidence, I am sure I saw a receipt when I viewed the car but cant find it now.

its a bit of a haul for him, but if he is willing to travel, use his services   :y

With cambelts, my personal belief is not to chance it, change it unless you know for sure, when it was done.

If the service history is stamped up, it may be worth calling the number of the garage on the stamp.  I did with mine, and the garage was happy to give me chapter and verse on what they had done and when they had done it. 

It turned out that the last cam belt was not done at a service, so the box wasn't ticked.  It had been done at the same time as an MOT because that fitted in better with the 40K interval.

I alway go by the "if in doubt, get the spanners out".

If you have any doubts of it being done, it would be wise to get it sorted out, as will be a lot cheaper than getting the engine repaired.  And not a lot of fun when you have to get transported on a low-loader because the engines given in !!.

Bound to be some-one on here that is able to help you out.

Garage had no record of changing cam-belt so
had belt changed, old one did not look bad and was a gates which I believe are only fitted after market so it probably was changed before, still best to be safe ;)

I hope it was the cambelt kit and not just the belt you had changed?

Full Kit plus, water pump and rocker gasket (Just because that needed doing anyhow ;) )
