EGR Valve
« on: 28 September 2010, 09:03:41 »

Just a quickie but if the seal between the EGR valve and the plenum chamber body is poor will it give me a lumpy engine on my V6 only noticed there is no gasket and I can't remember seeing one.Starts up straight away, but runs like a bag of poo.

I have replaced the gaskets on the rockers too and had to suck out some oil from the spark plug area but prior to that the car ran sweet.

sounds like you have an air leak somewhere, double check all the vacumn pipes and if you don't find anything obvious spray a can of carb cleaner around the plenum area and see if the engine note changes

All ok now it was the Dis pack and what a pain in the arse to get at.
The Haynes book of jokes is helpful but not a fraction on the help and advice from the guys on this site.
