Lighter blank removal
« on: 02 October 2010, 17:35:15 »

Anyone know how to remove the section of plastic below the rear heater outlets on the center consul  that  houses the cigarette lighter. ...... just don't want to ' snap ' any crucial bits. Thanks ...

Thanks for the reply Agemo, but I tried again and it does in fact unclick  quite easily from two retaining clips at the top . Thanks to Phil I found the unused wiring for electric rear seat heating which makes an easy place to connect to when an ignition live is requied. The gig lighter in the back was on ignition live in my previous Omega but in this one they have changed it to permanent live . .......... Now on ignition live . Job  done  :y

Yep 2 clips at the top retaining it and  'feet' at the bottom edge , 1 each side. Strange;  a metal spring plate about 30mm sq. fell inside as it came out, and I could not workout where it went back. ..... but it still clipped back into place fine .
