just bought 2000 2.5v6 elite estate great car but has a few problems not sure if anyone can help with them? sometimes when booting it the gearbox seems to bang in to third and the auto box check light comes on but turn it off and restart no light shows any ideas anyone have thought about taking it to a auto specialist up the road as dont want to be stung by dealers  :-/

Service the auto box and go from there, it is not sealed for life, as a dealer may tell you....
