No, I am not being rude! I just would like some advice about bleeding the brakes on my 02 2.6, I am going to have to loosen the brake pipes going into the ABS unit, hence I will need to bleed the system, may as well replace the fluid at the same time. Is there a specific order in which to do them, anyone recommend any gadgets to make it easier, best fluid to use, all tips and advice will be gratefully received!

I'd be very careful not to get air in the ABS modulator if you don't have access to some way of pulsing the modulator afterwards. Easy to get air in, but I believe a bugger to get rid of. It would need a Tech II of sorts to bleed it if you did.

i would not go touching pipes into the ABS unit, two methods really:

1) requires one person and a brake bleed kit, using spare tyre, and a bottle full of new fluid, it pressurises the brake header tank, then release the bleed nipple on each caliper. Make sure you have some pipe to take fluid into a collector of some kind.

Repeat on all brakes...

2) two person method, get a mate to pump the brake pedal, as per my guide...

The trouble is that I need to shift the ABS unit at least a little to replace a leaking aircon pipe which runs underneath it. Would I be better entrusting it to a garage?

that ABS unit is a b!tch to remove, are you sure that an air-con pipe near it is leaking?

Oh yes! I have got the pipe out, in 3 bits! There are pin holes on one of the 90 degree bends.
