Hi all
Following on from my other post regarding a few issues, I have now discovered that I have a cracked exhaust manifold.
Its on a Y reg 2.2 CD Auto (petrol) which has done 127k.
I did notice it was quite noisey when starting up from cold, but with not having anything else to compare it with, I wasnt sure if it was normal or not. I am experiencing cold start problems which ive been advised, points to a problem with the cam sensor but at the time I just assumed this is noisey cold start was all part of the same problem.
Well today I took off the heat shield and discovered the following.

So a few questions I have regarding this.
1 - Are these manifolds expensive to buy new, or should I just try and source a good second hand one?
2 - How hard are they to fit. I see access is ok, apart from the aircon pipe. Can the manifold be manouvered around this to fit, or can the pipe be removed easily?
3 - Although noisy ish when cold, it soon quietens when warm. How long can I expect it to last and is there any danger in using it whilst I get the parts sorted.
4 - Performance wise, I guess this will affect things with regards to poor cold starts and sluggishness when on the move?
Thanks
Matt
