Plenum O rings. 2.6 V6
« on: 11 October 2010, 17:56:26 »

I want to do the breathers on the car and was wondering whether other members always change the O rings under the plenum or whether (provided they are undamaged) one can get away with using the existing set. I ask this because these small items seem to be getting harder to get hold of ex-stock from GM.

Thanks in advance for comments!    :y

I didn't bother as they appeared to be fine however I did enquire about the cost (without trade card) and was quoted about £30 for a set of 6!  :(

Always reused mine as they were undamaged and still well pliable.  Have a spare set in case - from Vx - remember paying about £0.50 each on TC and thinking what a rip off!!

They should be OK to re-use. Didn't we replace them with the cam belt? If so, certainly OK to re-use, I'd say

So why the hell was I quoted £46 for a set of six O rings and 5 litres of red antifreeze? Have I got MUG written on my forehead? Just as well I didn't need them. >:(

You were quoted for the wrong set! O rings are pennies. AutoAddict picked a set up when we did his breathers and they were the lower set of seals for the inlet plate not the O rings. We just re-used the original set.
