Unknown switch
« on: 09 October 2010, 00:28:15 »

Hi all, on my 3.0 auto I have this switch just below the snow/ice button. I have used it and nothing happens anywhere from what I can see, I have never seen this on another omega, I was wondering what it might do? Do any of you guys have an idea of what it might be? Thanks for any help.
Heres a pic:

I've never seen it on an Omega either. Having a guess could it not be a switched auxillary power supply that a previous owner has installed to run something such as a cooler box etc in the boot (or somewhere else)?

I've got a switch next to my headlight switch, that isn't original to the car. If you're that bothered why don't you trace the wire and see where it goes to? You might end up using it yourself if it's useful!

Yeah thats a good possibility, I might just leave it, just wanted to see if any of you knew what it does. I'm not that particularly bothered by it. Thanks for your help.  :P 8-)

It's 'turbo boost' for those who remember Knight Rider  ::)

The reason it didn't do anything when you tried it is because it doesn't work unless you're travelling over 124.36 mph...  ;D ;D

Try it & report back...

Ex police or ex taxi, most like.

Both tend to have random wiring added here and there and all thats done on decommissioning is to snip the end at the relevant gubbins, leaving the rest in situ.

Best bet is to trace the wires from the switch and see where they end up....
