i have bought a 01 mv6 ex police car it has a lsd but somtimes only spins one wheel comin out of junctions etc and tips  :-/

Are you sure it has an LSD fitted? Not all ex-plod cars did.

sounds like a normal diff to me.. how certain are you that it has one? the say so from the previous owner?

i jacked it up one side in gear and you cant turn the wheel easy and she will throw the tail out most of the time seems like its easier when the cars moving than from a stand still!!!

best to jack it up and get the numbers off the diff, someone on here wil confirm if its lsd or not, I cant remember off hand how to tell.

but even my normal diff version swings out easy when moving, not sure what your trying to get it to do.

the only real way to tell is to examine inside the diff.

either remove the rear cover and have a look ( good time to change the LSD-only fluid, or

remove a driveshaft and have a look from the side. 2-pi = open diff, 4-pin = LSD.

Cheers was thinkin of puttin some of that lucas oil stabilizer into it anyone know if its any use????
