If the Dealer is in the Trade Club Program and you have a valid Autobahn membership card then get the dealer to phone TC with the card number to confrim.
If they don't go elsewhere (See Below:y)

As for one dealer not taking the card but the other branch does this will be because one is a satellite branch and as such cannot take part in TC as it all has to be done from the main branch.

We have the same system as our Haverhill branch as is a Satallite Branch of Bury they cannot sell at TC prices because they haven't a wholesale opperation

Like i've said see below if you have a problem

Cheers

Thanks all.

Just in the middle of trying to cut the cost of some of these parts., because at the moment the total is coming to £1173 inc VAT.

Some parts, such as the cam belt kit and the rocker cover gaskets I'd rather buy genuine items, but I find paying £95 +VAT for a water pump a bit rich. Would parts from Euro Car parts be suitable, (I'm thinking discs as well)?

Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question, but with the Land Rover there are certain firms (Britpart for example) who have a real bad rep for low quality replacement parts.

Anyone got any experiance of the stuff from Euro Car Parts? Any idea where I can get decent HT leads from that don't cost over £200?

If it's not broke, on a V6, then don't fix it. More important on a 4 ot cos it's cam belt driven.  :y

Prices sound about right, though they have charged you for OE rear pads, not TC ones. Which is best value is a source of debate though.

Oil, on TC, sound be around £35 for 20l (as its buy 3, get a 4th free)

Cheers.

i forgot to mention, I have been quoted £15.60 for spark plugs, (sounds ok), and a huge £205 for HT leads!I've had a look on Demontweaks, but can't find a listing for the Magnecor leads. Anyone know how much they are or where to get them from?

Yep, shop around, it's amazing what you can find. Although I would second the motion that if it aint broke etc... Are you really in need to spend over 1100 quid on your car? For that money you could buy a spare omega, and just use that one when this one breaks! Think of it as an 1555kg biro. :-)

I understand fully what you are saying. However.......

I do a very large mileage per year. 40'000 +. Now, I could go out and buy a three year old Mondeo / Vectra, and run that for a few years, suffering thousands of pounds in depriciation. Or I could get something like the two vehicles mentioned above on a lease agreement, pay thousands over a few years with the mileage I'd put on it, and have no asset at the end of things.

At the moment I'm still on paternity & holiday leave, (just), and I also still have my Seat Toledo untill such time that the Omega is sorted. What I'd rather do, and what I always do is buy a motor for £2000-£3000, run it for one to two years, then sell it, loosing not a great deal of money in the long run.

The aim is to get the Omega sorted, including purchase price for a maximum budget of £2500. Whilst I have two 'everyday' cars to run, and whilst I'm doing all the other work on the Omega, I'd rather get everything done in one go. Once it's done, it's done, and it likely (crossed fingers), not going to be letting me down in the future, or off the road for anything other than the odd day for routine servicing.

Ever given thought to the fact that it may well be the antics of some small minded chair/desk polishing wannabe trying to justify his company position?
Not all employees do as they are told or stay within the company rules, their ego's will not let them!
Sad, very sad I know - but that is the sorry truth of it and the only thing that makes any logical sense.
I would go and have a word with the area manager and see if he is aware of that disparity.  :y

As alluded to by some previous posts - dealers who are not participants in the TC scheme are unlikely to give TC prices.
There are several Underwoods dealers in my area, but only one is a participant in the scheme. There is a list of participating dealers on the TC website. :y
