Was gettin tyres and while car was jacked up took a look to see why it was wearing inside at front passenger. To me I'm goin to call it the steering arm mount. It seems to bolt onto the side wall (inner wing?) Of the engine bay. Anyone know what I'm on about and what the proper name is for this part so I can get it ordered tomorrow.

Inside shoulder wear is usually down to camber adjustment on an Omega. As the suspension ages the camber setting becomes excessive.

Having said that, the steering idler arm is a common failure and if there is any up-and-down play it's worth changing this.

While you're there, check the front wishbone bushes. Another common failure. Once any faulty parts have been replaced it will need a full geometry setup. Make sure that the front camber is not excessive. It needs to be set to approximately 1^o10' to avoid excessive wear. It's not uncommon for tyre depots not to bother to set this if it's "in the green" but that can mean over 2 degrees which will cause excessive wear.

Rang my local motorfactors today and they told me that there are two sizes 110mm and 120mm long. Vauxhall quoted me 75 pound but weren't able to tell me the length. Anyone know what the lenght is? I'm unable to find out in work so can't find out before motorfactors closes

Make sure it is a decent part they supply, many pattern ones are utter crap.

the one listed above is Lemforder and may of us have used em with no problems.

yes i believe lemförder is the original supplier to vauxhall/opel

i just ordered it from vauxhall. while i was in i asked about rocker cover gaskets, now NLS they only sell covers and gasket kit but original is NSL. He said he is referred to new part numbers and he thinks these are metal covers and a gasket. he said he wasnt sure and to ask on the forums if anyone knew. he offered me 20% discount now costing £158

i asked what it the proper name was so i could order it. My paypal account wont work been trying for ages and just wont let me in even after contacting paypal so cant buy from ebay.

i really need it as its really loose and a lot of play.

No Omega cover is metal. Nor do you need to buy new covers.  Go in with the part numbers from the maintenence guide.  And beware, the dealer will do his utmost to sell you the wrong sealant!!

Quite understand, no worries. You can see why I was bemused. And as said above, beware of dealers, they dont really know what theyre talking about; so check on here, then TELL them what you want, never ask!!
