Steering Play
« on: 23 November 2010, 11:57:05 »

When my wheels are straight the steering feels tight, but when the steering is turned in either direction from a little to full lock there is quite a bit of noticeable play on the steering wheel.  Could this be down to wishbones or something else needs replacing??? Thanks in advance  Marc

Nope. This is perfectly normal and due to the way the steering box is damped around the "straight ahead" position. :y

I assume by "tight" you mean "no play" and not that there's any noticeable friction?

Thats it, at straight ahead there is no play and instantly feel the tension of the wheels being turned, when the wheel is away from straight ahead there is possible about an inch of play before you feel the tension on the wheels, if this is normal then brilliant just i was thinking this is a sign of something else i need to replace
