dash battery light
« on: 24 November 2010, 08:59:37 »

When i turn the key on the car the battery light isn't always present(after i wait a bit the only light is the oil light)... sometimes it light up but more of the times it doesn't. it lights up especially when i drive with consumers on before i turn off the car (rear window heat, headlights) but not every time. is this a problem i should worry about.. what can this be?

p.s. this is without starting the engine so there won't be any mislead users :)

The battery light should stay on until it senses a charge coming from the alternator.

Firstly try another bulb to eliminate that as being at fault. Then test your alternator using THIS guide :y

i get 13.1v with all consumers on(headlights, climate control, eco off, heated seats, heated window).. i don't think the bulb is faulty because it would light at all :(
