I should add that when this happened to me the lock barrel and levers were fine but the item labelled "Sprung Pin" in the guide was jamming due to wear in the ramp on which it rides in the lock barrel casting. This draws the barrel in as the key is turned to unlock the steering.

I ended up smoothing off the burrs in the ramp and lubricating it all and it has been fine since.

Certainly, if it's starting to play up, remove the barrel now and resolve it while you still can!
