A half decent flaring kit is around the £20 mark and less than a tenner for a short roll of Kunifer brake pipe (don't use copper as they allow moisture into the brake fluid), then make them up yourself. Not a difficult job at all :y

Hi
I always thought that the objection to copper brake pipes was that the copper can work harden due to vibration and then fracture.  As far as I know all metals are impervious to osmosis, unlike the rubber brake hoses.  I believe that at one time Volvo used to use copper brake lines, don't know if they still do.
Be that as it may, I agree that the job is relatively simple.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

Not a nice job to do in heavy snow! (unless you have a garage big enough to get the Omega in of course)

BTW, if it's just the pipes from the flexi to the caliper then you're laughing (soak the unions in WD40 overnight though).

If it's the pipes on the body side of the flexi then you're in for a whole world of pain!  They disappear behind the exhaust heat shields so I'm sure you can imagine the rest!  I had to do this job several times on Carltons so now I coat the brake lines in spray wax or grease cos I never want to have to do it again!
