How feasible is it to do the final torqueing up with no pit, ramps or DLK powers of levitation?  I'm assuming trolley jack and axle stands are no help here.   :question

Tighten them up with the car on its wheels and then jack it up to torque the bolts :y

I'm pretty sure you can torque up the poly bushes by just using jack + stands.
There's no rubber to 'deform' when your torquing up so no need to do it with wheels on the ground.  8-)

Torque up 'on the deck' or with wheels suspended, it makes no difference. Poly-bushes are not bonded in like rubber bushes, in fact quite the opposite, as a smear of copper grease is applied before sliding them in.

For those that fancy a spot of DIY, this is the video I made as a rough guide.

It will be a 2 to 4 week wait anyway. I'm more than happy to order these but as Dave says once i've bought jiffy bags and posted them out there's going to be little difference in the prices.

Pete,

I'm happy for you to hang on to ours as we will be asking you to fit them anyway.  ::)   :y

When do you want paid for the bushes & how? Paypal?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but there is two bushes on each wishbone so do you get both bushes for each wishbone in the kit or just one replacement bush? :y

Just one bush for each wishbone included in the kit; the rearmost of the two bushes on the wishbone is in the wrong 'plane' to be easily replaced by polyurethane, so there isn't one available (yet)

Thanks for the advice.

OK, what I’m getting out of this is, in the absence of pit or ramps:

Conventional rubber bushes – install finger tight on stands, lower the car onto its wheels, nip ‘em up tight enough that they don’t move when the car is jacked up, torque up on stands.

Poly bushes – torque up whatever way is easiest because they are effectively greased bearings anyway.

Close-ish?   :)

Just got my bushes off of ebay,im in a bit of a quandry at the moment in that do i source another pair of good second hand wishbones to change the bushes or buy a cheap set off of ebay ( not sure if the rear bushes go on the cheap ones like the fronts!! ),mine are actually ok at the moment ( genuine vauxhall fitted by previous owner ) or do i just replace them on my own wishbones  :-/
