Hi all.
        Need some help with getting a second hand diff for my 1999 motor.
Got a part number for my diff from vauxhalls, ( 90523884 ), but nearly every other diff i have seen for sale that have come out of 2.5 V6 all seem to have different part number.
I know i need a ratio of 4:22 and also have the 2 leads coming out of the diff for ABS.
So what i'am really asking is if i got a diff with the same ratio would it fit on my car and run ok, are their any pitfulls.
          OH, and for a laugh the bloke in the dealers told me a new diff would cost £2000-76p + VAT and had to be ordered from Germany. I'd like to know where the 76p came from.

The ABS sensors fit through holes in the diff cover and are held in place by a single bolt. You should be able to swap your existing sensors (hopefully known good units) from the old diff to the new diff without even unplugging them.

any diff of the same ratio will suit.

at the very worst, the front flange could be of a different size, but you can swap these over. Given the amount of hassle in changing the diff, you'd want to change the seal anyway.

are the front flanges really different ? wat is the differce? i am going fitting a 4.2 diff that i got here into my manual 3.0 for extra accelaration i hoped they were the same flanges

if it's come from a 4-cylinder car, the rubber donut might be smaller - hence the pcd on the flange being smaller, too.
