Two problems
« on: 20 December 2010, 21:52:56 »

Hi, firstly, the temp in my Omega has gone funny, showing anything from 25 to 50 degrees, when it should be in the minusses. Any suggestions?

Also, the electric seat nearly caught fire. I smelt burning and thought it was the car's exhaust in front, but then my back started to get really hot and i saw smoke. Luckily I had a bottle of water to douse it down, but there's now a large hole in the seat! Is this common? I have used the heated seat to the max recently but didn't expect this. Cheers.

I think your outside temp sensor might be defective. They are cheap enough to buy, £6 ish from ebay. I haven't fitted one myself but I'm told they're under the front bumper somewhere.

As for your heated seat, does it still work? It might have been the wires/elements burning through which is quite a common problem (my drivers side doesn't work), which will probably mean yours doesn't now work.

There is a guide I think on how to fix cloth ones, but leather is alot harder so they say.
